Gulf Steam Company’s most recent project had us, along with two key folks from Parker Boiler, out in California helping start up and refine a couple Parker Boiler T6800’s in a large hospital that had been put in about three years ago. This facility is in the process of a major overhaul, one that is being handled in several phases. The startup of these two boilers was needed to get the laundry side of things going, thanks to a recent equipment removal, upfit, and installation of equipment by our friends at Tri-State Laundry Equipment.
So why exactly the Parker Boiler T6800?
- First, let’s talk about Parker Boiler. When you hear the name Parker Boiler, you automatically think quality and safety. Each one of their boilers is thoroughly tested at every phase to make certain it operates flawlessly before being shipped out.
- Second, let’s talk about the t-series. The t-series boilers are direct-fired hot water boilers with 300,000 to 6,800,000 BTU input able to produce temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, the t-series has a large heating surface which increases the life of the boiler and helps reduce scaling. Finally, this series, which doesn’t have complicated controls, is incredibly easy to operate.
- Third, why the 6800? The hospital’s equipment requirement for a constant flow of 160-degree water and a closed loop hot water boiler to heat the process water for linen quality led everyone involved to believe this model would meet all their needs.
We were delighted to be a part of a project with so many terrific folks working on it. Most importantly, we are happy to help improve the process and functionality of a place that helps take care of those in need.
